Multi-touch eBooks
Curt was introduced to the world of eBooks when Apple contacted him and his Trailer Park team to help them launch their iBook store by converting thousands of books to ePubs from a variety of publishers. Curt built a team of designers, producers and developers to take on the task. He started a specialized division called Trailer Park Publishing and proceeded to become a favored vendor of Apple who continued to give lucrative contracts. Curt then was hired by Bemis Balkind and took Apple with him. Apple, now having developed their own eBook building platform called IBA, Curt’s new team was tasked to create a showcase prototype to inspire publishers and writers everywhere. That first book was Rolling Stones 50, a coffee table photobook of the bandmembers own photography taken over their 50 years together. The team was given free reign to conceptualize added interactive features to enhance the storytelling. The result was a fantastic example of where “Multi-touch Storytelling” was going. Curt then took that concept and applied it to create the first theatrical release promotional eBook for the new movie Les Miserables at his former studio Universal Pictures. With the success of that promotional vehicle, he pitched Fox Searchlight Pictures and produced many more movie eBooks. Curt went on into the PR world with Weber Shandwick and created many new prototype multi-touch eBooks for many of their clients including Harley Davidson.
